The Huntingdon Bearcat Baseball squad played¬† Central tough all season but fell short on Monday June 12, 2017 falling to the Scarlet Dragons 3 – 1 in the PIAA Semi Finals held at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, home of the Penn State Nittany Lions and the State College Spikes. The Bearcats had beaten Mt. Pleasant and Sharpsville to reach the Western Finals and were one game away from the State Title game before losing to Central who they defeated to win the District 6 title. The young Cats, who had only¬† 2 seniors on this year’s squad trailed Central 3 – 0 heading into the bottom of the 7th when they got on the board with their lone point. The game was broadcast live worldwide on The AIR Network and locally on Community FM 94.1 FM. The future looks bright for the Bearcats as they hope to have multiple under classman return to the squad in 2018. Go Cats!
